Spanish Immersion Summer Camp
The lead teacher, Rachel Soto, is a native English speaker who's love for Spanish grew from the language and cultural foundation established during years of school instruction and immersion experiences in middle school, high school, college, and beyond.
For over 15 years Rachel has worked in classrooms where language acquisition was the focus including elementary bilingual education and ESL.
This weeklong, Olympics-themed, Spanish Immersion Summer Camp ignites kids' minds and imaginations through language, community and movement and immerses campers' everyday world in the language of Spanish. Our weekly theme provides the spring board for fun, games, crafts, and songs which bring the language to life.
Spanish Immersion camps provide exposure to the Spanish language and encourage beginning conversation skills through fun, meaningful, and connected activities...planting that "seed" of language learning that will continue to be watered and will grow over time.
Each child will be supported and encouraged, at their own (ever changing) level, as they learn, grow, and experience daily success through the process of learning another language.
These programs immerse children's everyday world in the language of Spanish. Authentic children's literature and daily life experiences provide the spring board for our class activities such as songs, oral language, games, crafts, and food which bring the books, the culture and the language, to life.
